Pediatric Dentistry

Kids began to get their baby teeth during the first six months of their birth. By the time they are 6 or 7 years old, they begin to lose their first set of teeth, which eventually are replaced by permanent teeth. If proper dental care is not taken, children may face possible oral decay and disease that can cause immense pain and complications to the erupting permanent teeth.

Children are just small adults but they may not be cooperative and patient during a dental examination. This is what Dr. Sidhu is expert at. She knows exactly how to treat and examine kids in ways that make them comfortable.

Preventive Dental exams & Cleanings

Whenever the child gets his first tooth, it is best that you bring your children to us for regular dental check-ups. We can help your child to prevent cavities before they start and to diagnose and treat any problems early. Dr. Sidhu, with her experience of more than 10 years will keep an eye out for signs of orthodontic problems in kids of ages 8-10 so they can be taken care of as soon as possible.

Fillings

Cavities in the teeth need to be cleaned out and filled so that they don’t get worse. If not treated on time, cavities cause immense pain and may result in loss of the teeth. In such cases to treat children, we can use tooth-colored fillings that merge with the rest of the tooth.

Sealants

Whenever your child’s molar teeth(back teeth) grow in, that part needs to be coated with a special filler called sealant to smoothen the surface, blocking the food and bacteria from entering into the crevices of the teeth surfaces. Dental sealants are a simple, preventative step that can save you the trouble of future cavities. A dental sealant is a thin, wear-resistant resin applied to the chewing surface of your teeth. These are the areas which are most prone to developing cavities since the deep grooves tend to trap food particles.Once the sealant has been applied, the surface is smoother, making regular brushing more effective!!
